A screening, annual, or routine, mammogram is performed when the patient does not perceive any problems with their breast health. It consists of four views-two views of each breast. The technologist takes the pictures, checks them for quality, and then the patient leaves. A report is generated within a few days. If any potential issues are identified, the radiologist will call the patient back for additional exams.
